Conditions

Booking space with us is easy!

Here is the fine print, so you know what we expect and what you can expect from us!

CHARGES + CANCELLATIONS:

If you need to cancel your booking, the following fees may apply:

  • Cancellation after commencement date of a recurring booking: Give us a call, let’s see what we can do.
  • Cancellation within 24 hours of a one-off booking: Full fee payable.
  • Cancellation more than 24 hours prior to a one-off booking: No charge.

PRIVACY:

Please respect the privacy of others using the centre at the same time as you. We’re a community centre so other people will have access to the building at the same time as you.

EMERGENCIES:

In the case of emergencies, please use the phone to alert the relevant authorities.

Emergency:  000
Police Assistance: 13 14 44

If you are required to call the police, your location is:
Milligan Community Centre, 35 Milligan Street, Carey Park WA 6230.

There is a Fire and Emergency Evacuation Plan in all rooms showing where to find fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

The first aid kit is in the kitchen. Any serious accidents or incidents should be reported to Milligan staff at the first opportunity so that we can try to put measures in place so they don’t happen again. Your safety is really important to us.

SECURITY:

If your booking is outside of our office hours, please contact the team at Milligan to arrange access. When you come to pick up a key and code, someone will show you how everything works.

ALARM:

When arriving, the alarm can be deactivated by entering the code given to you by staff.

When leaving, the alarm must be set by pressing the “ON” button. Please make sure no one else is in the building before setting the alarm. We’re a community centre so other people will have access to the building at the same time as you. If someone is still in the building, please just lock the door behind you when you leave. The last person to leave will set the alarm.

Milligan staff will run through the security system with you when you collect your key.

PARKING:

Milligan has 2 parking areas – on the left side at the front of the building (look for the giant smiley faces) and also behind the building, off Doolan Street.

There is accessible parking in the front car park.

Parking on the right of the front car park is not permitted during the week. This parking is reserved for Milligan House Child Care Centre, as it’s a separate business. When the neighbouring business is closed on the weekends, the car park can be used.

DAMAGES:

No one tries to break things, but accidents happen. Let us know and we can work together to make sure the centre continues to be a great space for everyone to use.

STORAGE:

We’ve got lockers. You can use them. Feel free to talk to us if you would like to store your small stuff here.

SETTING UP + PACKING AWAY:

It takes time to set up and pack down, we know this. Your booking includes a 15 minute window either side of your booking to ensure you have time to do so, if you need more just let us know.

CLEANING:

A clean space feels good. If you leave it the way you found it, everyone is happy!

Everything needs to be packed away, wiped down, floors swept, dishes washed and put away and bins emptied. The bins can be emptied into the big green bins out the back verandah. The door is at the end of the corridor. We don’t cope well with smells before our morning coffee!

KITCHEN FACILITIES:

We have a kitchen. Feel free to use it. Please remember the kitchen remains a shared space at all times so be nice to the other people using it too.

We’re a community centre so other people will have access to the building’s shared facilities at the same time as you.

PERSONAL SAFETY

We care about you and your safety is really important to us. A couple of things to think about:

If Milligan crew aren’t in the building, please lock the front door behind you. You don’t need to be a welcoming committee to the general public. There are contact details on the front door if other people need to get in touch with us.

At night, we recommend you park in the front carpark and leave with a friend.

THANK YOU!

We hope you really enjoy using this space, that’s what it is here for! We love having you here and we want to do whatever we can to make your experience as awesome as possible.

If you have any questions or feedback, please hit us up… we always love hearing from you.
